Updates from the Jones Lab

Summer 2026

First group photo! The Jones Lab welcomes Pedro Souza and Maitreyi Kaushik, a new postdoc and MSc student respectively.

We're also very happy to welcome back Amanda Narvaez as a research assistant for the summer. Amanda recently completed an IAESTE internship in Prague where she had her first experience of working overseas.

Earlier this summer, the Jones Lab welcomed Taha Ulukanligil who joined the group with a York University Earle Nestmann Undergraduate Research Award (ENURA) for the summer.

We're excited to see what the coming months bring as we continue to grow as a group.

Welcome to Amanda and Thomas - the first official members of the Jones Lab!

Amanda and Thomas are undergraduate volunteers and will help with setting up the lab over the summer. Here we are pictured with the new acoustic levitator, developed by Dr. Pete Docker at the Diamond Light Source, UK. We plan to further develop the levitator in collaboration and couple it to different techniques to study atmospheric particles.
